  1. 1-) I think that yes for two reasons, first, in my country now we have a lot of insecurity, so people feel stress out because they have to be carefully when go outside and somebody steal or even kill them. Second, traffic became a big problem because people have to lose a lot time driving between home and work. Therefore you can see that all people isn't happy and live all the time are upset.

3-) No, but I think it could be heart attack if they don't care themselves. I means do exercises and have a balance diet.

4-) Well now I feel a little bit stress for all the process that I have to do for apply here in UH, but I am trying to eat my own food, go to the gym, and one of the things that I like to do when I feel upset is listen music. It is my way to relieve stress and decrease CVD.

    1. 1. Unhappiness isn't a risk factor for CVD (according to the lecture) but stress possibly is. It would indeed be stressful to live in that kind of fear.

      4. I don't think you have to worry too much about CVD due to your age and gender, which put you at low risk. Still, its good that you have found a good way to relieve your stress.

    1. 2. Correction: He is a person who is easily angered.
Do you think there is a direct link between his anger and his diabetes and hbp?

      3. Obesity is not the direct cause of CVD, according to the lecture. It is because obesity leads to diabetes and hbp which are both risk factors for CVD.

      4. You need to bring a treadmill back with you when you go!

  3. In my country called Cameroon, many doctors have diagnosed a high incidence of CVD ;Generally caused by risk factors such as Obesity ,Stress and type A personality ( Competitive or easily angered people ) . In my knowledge of type A personality , I think that my Father has the perfect description of type A People. In his daily life , he usually gets easily angry when something is not done exactly as he wants or maybe when someone disobeys his advice and instructions . Also , he is a very competitive person in his domain of work : Computer engineering . He always wants to be the best among other people ; As a result , he gets daily Stress which increases his Blood pressure .The great thing is that he succeeds in his job but cares less about his health because he thinks he works hard for the comfort of his family...my father's sister has cardiovascular disease especially heart attack not only because she is obese but also because this gene runs out in the family ...In my concern , after being informed about CVD , i think it's better for me to reduce my food's appetite in order to avoid being obese . Furthermore , i would rather stop being stressed about unimportant things . But what i know is that , i'm young , I do not leave a sedentary life and i don't smoke neither do i have unalterable risks. So , i think that my risks are low .

  4. 1.- I really don't know for sure if in my country are incidence of CVD but I think if there was, it propably would be because of the insecurity. Nowadays people feel more stress because they can not leave their homes without the fear of being robbed and therefore end up dead.

2.- I don't know anyone who fits the Type A description.

3.-I don't know anyone who has cardiovascular problems, as we know people who have one or more risk factor such as high blood pressure, cholesterol, overweight (obesity), smoke, do not exercise, have diabetes and doesn't care about that, are more likely to develop cardiovascular problems.

4.- I don't think I have to worry to much about CVD due my age, but probably in a future, if I do exercise as before, It could decrease my risk of CVD

  5. 1. I'm not really sure about incidence of CVD in my country, but I can infer that there are some reasons that can involve people living in my country that could make them feel under stress that is one of the reasons to suffer CVD. First, insecurity is one of the big problems that my country is suffering, people worry when they go out because they don't know what can happen while they are out of their house. Second, traffic specially in my city is a big problem, there are more cars than the highways can support.

2.Yes, I think my uncle is this type A of people, he is always worried about the perfection not only in work but also at home. Also he is very competitive, he likes gambling, and he likes play soccer and guess what? he never likes losing games.

    3.No, I don't know anyone with CVD.

4.I think I'm like my uncle type A, so I think I need to change my competitiveness and also I have to worry about the things have to be perfect, but in my case, I just worry about soccer staff to be perfect, for example, while I'm playing I'm always worry about the movements, the passes and all the stuff, and sometimes when my soccer partners don't do their work I get angry so quickly.

  6. 3- Yes, I do. my grandfather had CVD. The factors were diabetes, high blood pressure and also stress.

4- In my family diabetes and high blood pressure are genetic disease, so I should be carful and don't eat a lot of sugar and take medicine if my blood pressure increase (God forbid that). Also, keep exercising is another good way to avoid the risk of CVD. However, I think following these ways will decrease my risk of CVD.

2- Concerning the Type A person, i can listed my father's friend, is someone who has a busy life . he's always on the phone talking with his collaborators. He has no family life due to his busy life. Today he's suffering of high cholesterol.

3- In person, i do not know somebody who has CVD.

4-About me, i do not think about changing my habits, because i'm a sportsman, it's true i'm a little bit overweight but i'm working on in order to reduce risk of CVD or something else.

  8. 1. Is there a high incidence of CVD in your country? If yes, which risk factors do you think are responsible? If not, why not, in your opinion?
Yes, you don't heard them in the news but you aware of them . I think one of the principal factors is the stress, we are constantly under stress thanks to our country problems, such as insecurity, political situation , our economy . Also many people don't have the habit of exercise and this lead to sedentarism

    2. Do you know anyone who fits the Type A description? Describe that person and how s/he is "Type A."

Yes I know a lot of people like that, the best example would be mi partners in the office , every time we have to face a big project or need to do something quickly these people jump ahead to try to do all the work by themselves and when you try to suggest something important the get angry and don't accept criticism. Also they are stress out because the got into the big work without knowing how to work with teams

    3. Do you personally know anyone who has cardiovascular problems? If so, what are that person's risk factors?

Yes . He is a friend on mine , he spend most of the time stress out and also have some family history in CVD problems.

  9. 1. Is there a high incidence of CVD in your country? If yes, which risk factors do you think are responsible? If not, why not, in your opinion?

Yes, there is a high incidence of CVD in my country. I think the risk factor is unhealthy food. For example, Vietnamese people's diets have too much fat from animals, salt, and sugar. These cause high cholesterol, HBP, and diabetes which can increase the chances of CVD.

    3. Do you personally know anyone who has cardiovascular problems? If so, what are that person's risk factors?

Yes, one older man in my neighbor in Vietnam. I think his risk factor may be age and cigarettes smoking. I don't know exactly the reason.

    4. What about you? Are there any changes that you could make in your lifestyle that would decrease your own risk of CVD?

I think I will change a little bit in my lifestyle: find a way to cope with stresses and increase exercise.

  11. 1/ I am not sure if there is a high incidence of CVD in Vietnam or not. However, I believe that nowadays more people are at the risk of cardiovascular diseases due to the pressure from the life.

2-3/ My father is a typical example for the type A personality. He always wants everything to be done perfectly. Moreover, he is very strict and hot-tempered. That’s why he’s got some problems with his health such as high blood pressure.

4/ I think I get a low risk of CVD because of my age and gender. But I still worry about my sedentary lifestyle. Most of my time is spent on studying or something making me sit a lot. Therefore, I am trying to change my lifestyle to keep me healthy, for example: do exercise and eat more vegetable and fruits.
