6- The purpose of this essay was to inform people of what our society considers or considered as a wife's proper role.
7-This article was written with an ironic tone as illustrated in these sentences : 'I want a wife who will not bother me with rambling complaints about a wife's duties' , 'I want a wife who is sensitive to my sexual needs, a wife who makes love passionately and eagerly when I feel like it , a wife who makes sure that I am satisfied ' , ' when I am through with school and have a job , I want my wife to quit working and remain at home so that my wife can more fully and completely take care of a wife's duties'' .

  2. 0: Yes, I have read this article.

1: The author is Judy Brady, and she is significant.

2: It was published in a Magazine article.

3: She was writing to women who came across the same issue.

4: It was written in 1971. Yes, it is significant.

5: It was written in the premier issue of the feminist magazine Ms. Yes, it matters.

6: It was written to show the reality that men treated women unfairly. They just wanted women to do whatever they could't but need to do without considering women's feelings. In my opinion, she tried to persuade to tell all women that they couldn't live in this way anymore.

7: For the whole passage, there is sarcasm everywhere. For example: If, bu chance, I find another person more suitable as a wife than the wife I already have, I want the liberty to replace my present wife with another one. A little humorous was showed here: I belong to that classification of people known as wives. I am a wife. And, not altogether incidentally, I am a mother.

8: The author wants men to really care for their women! Women are human-beings, they have needs and do not treat them like machines. She wants to have equal rights with men. If men can stop being self-centered, life will be better and better.

  3. 0 Yes , I read this article
1 Judy Brady and she is significant
    2 Magazine article
    3 For men
4 It was written in 1971 and it is significant.
5 It was written in the Ms. magazine, and it matters.
6 The purpose of the article is about men want a wife who could do all of the things that men want to do and they never think about what things they can do for their wives.
7 I think the tone of article is ironic. For example, If, by chance, I find another person more suitable as a wife than the wife I already have, I want the liberty to replace my present wife with another one.
8 I think the author wants men to realize how hard to be an ideal wife is and men should stand on the wives' positions, if the men were wives, what would they have done? She just wants equal rights as same as men.

  4. 0 Yes i did

1 the author is Judy Brady. yes, she is significant

2 this is a classic ironic portrayal of the magazine article.

3 it was written not only for all women who have marriage problem as same as her, but also for all men

4 it was piblished in Ms.mazaine in 1971. but when it was written is unclear. i think. this is not significant.

    5 I don't know. this doesn't matter.

6 the purpose is to inform the reader that considered a wife's proper role

7 the tone is IRONIC. from this essay, there are a lot of "I want a wife..." .In my opinion, if a man wants a wife like this essay, he does not find a wife, and he find a slave or Babysitter. the author use a man's point of view to express men's feeling, which satirizes men who cannot find a perfect wife.

8 She really wants her husband's understanding.she wants men to realize that being a wife is not easy.she wants men can understand wamen a little bit more. perfect wife does not exist.

    7. The tone of this essay is amusing and ironic. The author repeated "I want a wife" so many times while she is a wife.
    8. Actually, the author was a wife and she didn't need a wife of course. She just wanted to show the responsibility of a wife or a wife's role in family which is unfair. She wanted the readers to rethink the social considers and required the same rights that women deserve to have as men.

    4. This article was written in 1971. Yes, It is significant.

    5. This essay was written for being published in Ms. Magazine. I don't think it does matter.

    6. The purpose of this essay was to inform people what society used to think it was the role of a wife.

    7. This article was written with an ironic tone, because it has so many sentences that demonstrate that tone. Like for example. "I want a wife who will not bother me with rambling complaints about a wife's duties." "I want a wife who is sensitive to my sexual needs, a wife who makes love passionately and eagerly when I feel like it, a wife who makes sure that I am satisfied." "I want a wife who understands that my sexual needs may entail more than strict adherence to monogamy." Also when it said that "If, by chance, I find another person more suitable as a wife than the wife I already have, I want the liberty to replace my present wife with another one. Naturally, I will expect a fresh new life; my wife will take the children and be solely responsible for them so that I am left free." it has a comical tone.

    8. The author wants to highlight how hard it is being a wife, and how proud they should feel for having a wife who takes care of the family and home needs. Also she want to stand out that wives are not just things that indulging everyone desires. They aren't machines.

    2. It is a magazine article.
    3. It was written for both single, married woman and married man.
    4. It was written in 1971.

    6. The purpose of this article was to persuade that we couldn't ask the woman play a role as a wife in our society to do too many things.
    7. The tone of this article is ironic.
    8. The author is a female, so she didn't want a really wife. She really wanted the role of wife to stop to act like slaver because they didn't have to do everything which their husband wanted they do. She wanted feminism.

  8. 0. I read the article.

    1. The author of the article is Judy Brady.

    2. This article is a magazine article.

    3. The article was written to men and women

    4. The article was written in 1971

    5. The article was written in a magazine. We don't know the place exactly and I do not think it matters.

    6. The purpose of the article was to inform people about what a man expects from his wife.

    7. The article is ironic and amusing at the same time because the women is almost compared to a slave or a thing. We see that in sentences like " I want a wife who will keep my house clean. A wife who will pick up after my children, a wife who will
pick up after me." and " If, by chance, I find another person more suitable as a wife than the wife I already
have, I want the liberty to replace my present wife with another one."

    8. I think what the author really wants is to give this information so everybody can pay a little more attention to what a Marriage means. What she means is that women are not slaves that were created just to satisfy men needs.

  9. 0. Yes, I did.

    1. The writer is Judy Brady. Yes, she is significant.

    2. It was published in a magazine article, and in an ironic way.

    3. It was written to all husbands to feel and know how important wives are.

    4. It was written in 1972. Yes it's significant.

    5. It was written in Ms. magazine. I think yes it does matter because this magazine knows as women magazine, so a lot of men might not be interesting in reading women magazine. However, they won't have the chance to read it.

    6. It was written to inform people that wives take most of the responsibility and husband treat them like wives have to take care of children, cook, and another important things that wives can't deal with at once. Nevertheless, the community kind of believe that. Also I'd like to add that, people believe that men's job is just to get money for the family and the wife is pretty obvious to take care of the other things. Even thought, she might have income too.

    7. The article was written in ironic and comical tone. For example; " I want a wife who will pick up after my children and after me." " I want a wife who is a good cook." " I want a wife who will not bother me with rambling complaints about a wife duties." I want a wife who will type for me when I have written them." " I want a wife who will have arranged that the children are fed and ready for bed before my guests arrive so that the children don't bother us." " I want a wife who makes sure they have an ashtray, and their wine glasses are replenished when necessary." Actually. most of the essay has words and sentences describe these tones, and those are some of them.

    8. The author wants to emphasize how hard it is being a wife, and wants all men to rethink of women's rights that they might give up about as soon as they get married. So, men should be proud of their wives. Also, she wants to tell men that why not they share some of the house work or even take care of the children in order to give their wives a little rest because women want their times too.

    5. It was written in Ms. magazine. And I think it doesn't matter.
    6. In this article, there are too much things male wants female do. So in my opinion, the purpose of this article is to persuade the female must have a bottom line when the couple are in the relationship, and the male don't cross the line.
    7. The tone of this article is ironic. There are too many "I want a wife..."
    8. Like what I wrote in question 6. The female must have a bottom line when the couple are in the relationship, and the male don't cross the line. And also, there must be a balance between two sex.

  12. The author of this article is Judy Brady , she was a professional writer. Her essay(article in the magazine) was published in 1971 in Ms. magazine as a reminder in a ironic way to husbands to appreciate their wife's. It was written in an important decade for women because in the 70's they were fighting for their equal rights , just like mens. In that time women were more likely to spend their time at home, doing house keeping and taking care of the children while the men were at the jobs earning the money to taking care of his family needs. This essay was written in San Francisco in the decade of the 70's, this city was important because it was a mayor city were women and gay people were discriminated , also in this city took place a important protest called "Take Back the Night"( mayor protest of women claiming for their rights.).

This article was written in a ironic and funny tone , because the author uses expressions that implies certain details of men in the 70's , details like : "I want a wife who keep my clothes clean.... and replaced when needed" or "My God who wouldn't want a wife?" This and other phrases in the article show how women were threaten by men. Her main goal with this essay/article is to communicate thru examples the fact that men can do part of the housekeeping , taking care of the kids, do thing by themselves and pay more attention to their wife's needs.

  16. 0. Yes, I did.

    1. The author of this article is Judy Brady.
Yes, she is. She's known as a professional writer and a feminist.

    2. According to the introduction, I think it is a magazine article.

    3. It was written for both men and women.

    4. It was first published in 1971. The article didn't mention the time when the author wrote it so I think the time is not significant.

    5. It was written in the USA considered to be a free country where it is widely believed that people are treated equally.

    6. This article's purpose was to persuade everyone that we should think about the significant role of the wives. It was worth pointing out that being a wife put enormous pressure and responsibility on women. After getting married, a man simply became a husband but a woman had to be in charge of not only a wife but also a cook, a housemaid, especially a machine serving her husband. Importantly, women were treated unfairly. Everything wives had to do were the sacrifice they saved for their families. Therefore, husbands should respect what their wives were doing for them instead of considering these things as a wife's duties.

    7. The tone of this article was ironic and satirical. There were many sentences expressing this tone in the article. For example: "A wife who will pick up after my children, a wife who will pick up after me.", or some other funny sentences sound like "I want a wife who is sensitive to my sexual needs, a wife who makes love passionately and eagerly when I feel like it, a wife who makes sure that I am satisfied. I want a wife who will not demand sexual attention when I am not in the mood for it." To be honest, I think every sentence in this article was used to mock the selfishness of men.

    8. In fact, the author is a wife so she doesn't want a wife at all. On behalf of women especially wives, she just wants men to realize the indispensable role of their wives in the family. Women deserve to be treated well and have the same rights as men.
