Blog Writing # 7: Responding to article "Four Score...Mind If I Take That?" (due Monday)

1. The article opens with a story about former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani. What does Giuliani do during his speech at the National Rifle Association? How does this story begin the discussion of cell phone use?

  1. 1.- Mr. Giuliani interrupted his speech because he took a call from his wife. The story begins to question the use of cell phones and if it's true that nowadays people are beginning to feel more comfortable taking calls anywhere, anytime.

    2.- The countries that are used as example are Sweden, Japan, Finland, China and USA. Helps a bit because it shows the different behavior that people have in the preferences of use on the cell phones between the countries mentioned, and also shows that what is correct in one country maybe is not correct in other one, that can be a signal that you are rude and impolite.

    3.- The article concludes that the author is expressing disagreement with cell phone use. It tells us that we have reached a time when the acceptance of the use of cell phones at any place and time have caused or will cause a decay of good manners.

    Yes, I think the last few sentences of the article gives an idea of ​​the author's feelings because that's where expresses its disagreement as I mentioned above.

  2. 1- Mr. Giuliani took a call from his wife, Judith during his speech. The story began discussion When the call interrupted his speech, that was a threshold moment about cell phones. Also, if Americans are comfortable with cell phone intrusions in public places or not.

    2- The countries that used as examples are Sweden, Japan, China, and Philippines including the United States. It helps the reader to know that those countries have different etiquettes and the cause is quite simply, they have different cultures. So, that means the use of cell phones is vary in each country. Also, it helps the reader to learn how about each country uses cell phones.

    3-The article ends with an unsatisfied realistic saying that the use of cell phones is going out of control because people use it almost anywhere anytime. So, yes I don. the author feels uncomfortable and sorry because we've reached a period of time in which the acceptance of using cell phones is futile and this could decay our manners.

    4- People should know when and where they can or cannot use their cell phones.

    The article end up with emphasize the acceptence of new technology among people, and unsing it with all manners it dose not bother them any more.

    2. The countries that are used as examples are U.S.A, Sweden, Japan, Finland, China, and Philippines. These examples tell the reader about the different ways of using cell phones in other countries so he can learn from other cultures.

    3-) the article ends with a slight inffiring of the auther disagreement presented as a warning and a pit of blaming , specially when he ended with " decaying manners"
