Hi Guys,
I can't believe we're at the end of week five. That means next week is midterm. The time has flown really fast. Wow.
For Monday in the Call Lab:
1. In RS, read the section "skill focus" on supporting details and do the exercises. Then read and MAKE AN OUTLINE of the article "10 Things You can Do for Global Warming." If you have the old edition of RS, check your email for the pdf of the article. Bring your outline to class on Monday. You will be able to use it to answer the questions on the reading quiz.
If you have time, you can go to townsendpress.net and do the exercises in chapter 3 (supporting details). I think this is very helpful not only with supporting details but also with main idea. We will probably look at a few of these exercises in class on Monday.
2. In ALE, do the matching exercises and study the words to be prepared for lecture 2 (in chapter 2). We will watch the lecture on Monday and take notes, and then you'll answer the questions on Tuesday.
3. Also on Monday (but possibly on Tuesday), I will give you a lecture on plagiarism. You will take notes and answer some questions the following day (or on the blog).
4. There is some blog writing and listening work that is due TONIGHT. Blog writing #4 and #5 and listening work #7.
Then, looking ahead...
We will have a vocabulary test on Tuesday. That's from the list "RSchapter2." This list includes the words you will need for the lecture on Monday.
We will have another vocabulary test on Friday. That will be Holes 8-20. So if you haven't started yet, its time to GET WITH IT (the program) because you're WAY BEHIND!
I know it seems like a lot of vocabulary, but its vocabulary that you've met in the reading so now you're just reviewing it. Keep going... you're doing a great job.
There will also be a reading midterm next week (Thursday or Friday) as well as a listening midterm. I will update you on these as soon as I have information.
Here's some good news: Spring break is just a few weeks away!
