I think he did something unusual for his students. When he realized that most of the excuse notes were written by themselves, he dealt with that in a different way. First, he had known who wrote them. Second, he liked to give them a lesson that they wouldn't forget forever. he passed out those excuse notes for the students to read them aloud. Third, he told them something they might face if they continue to do that. For example; they will ne making excuse the rest of their life, or might write excuse for their children in the future. That was unusual way to punish and wake up the students. So, I don't think so that other teachers would do the same, they might've gone to talk with their parents or talked with the students, see why he did that ,and it may harm the students. I guess that's what made him an unconventional teacher.
Two major things make him unconventional teachers . First, he found out what student love to write about , in this case was the excuse letters .second things was telling the student a lesson without embarrass them ( excuse never end and sooner or later you have to do your job without lying ) . Therefore Understanding the student and not to Embarrassing them make him a unconventional teacher.
It makes "Teacher Man" an unconventional teacher because it's the first teacher that make them write excuse notes to their students saying to them that it's the first class in the world ever to study the art of the excuse note, the first class, ever, to practice writing them and also told them that they will be making excuses for the rest of their lifes and want them to be believable and original. A normal teacher would never say that, and also a normal teacher would never say that probably in the future they'll be making excuse notes for their children. The teacher dealt with the problem in a very different way that most of the teacher would do, instead of punishing for what they done he turned it to an assignment that they consider entertaining.
The "Teacher Man" is an unconventional teacher because he noticed that the excuse notes from his students was written by them, he knew it at the beginning but he thought that he can deal in other way with his student's excuses. He say to them that his classes will be the first class in the world to study the art of the excuse notes, he said to the students that they will be dealing and making excuses for their whole live, that means that they will need to make excuses that other people can believe. I think that because of it the people say that the "teacher man" is an unconventional teacher, he took different ways to deal with his students.
"TEACHER MAN" seems to be an unconventional teacher because he neither punished his students nor blame them despite the fact that he knew they were the creator of such extraordinary and creative excuse notes. In front of this situation,he adopted a very calm attitude and we all know that other teachers would not have tolerated such habits in their classes. He even went far by characterizing his class as the first class which was the best in studies of art of excuses notes. He made those students read the excuses notes aloud so that they could be ashamed of themselves. He was so original that he gave an essay to his students which was to write an excuse note because he wanted to exploit their creativity and intelligence in order for them to have good marks. He even gave some advice without blaming them concerning the bad effects of writing excuse notes. For example,he told them that excuse never end and sooner or later they would have to do their jobs without lying. Finally , i think that other teachers could punish those students and even call up their parents that is why i persist in saying that "Teacher Man" is unconventional.
What you've written is nice and clear. The part I disagree with is when you wrote: "He made those students read the excuses notes aloud so that they could be ashamed of themselves." He didn't want them to be ASHAMED; he wanted them to be PROUD of such creative writing!
I think this is a innovative way to motivate students to be more creative and interested in their own work, because he knew that his students were the authors of the greatest excuses that he received from the"parents" of their pupils. Also its more fun to read imagination and be the good guy than be the punisher teacher. In normal conditions the teacher will call the parents to check if the excuse is true or not, but that creates a problem between the teacher and the students. Is true there will always be an excuse, because that "The Teacher Man" tries to guide their students in the production of original and believable excuses.
Knowing the truth about his students especialy about the excute notes, having the abillity to analyse the exute not( the talanted in the excute note) and his students, diffrentiating between what students wrote and what perantes wrote, then taking the advantage of all these to evoke the gifted talant insteed of just going with a ruglar punishment are what make "Teacher Man" an unconventional teacher.
I think the teacher is better at solve problems than usual, and there are the reasons.First, she didn't go talk with students's parents, she knows that talk to them is useless, because they are busy or won't really care about the little excuse notes.SO she chuse to let students to see those fake excuse notes, and that is a kind of fun way to teach, students will feel embarrassing but not bad.then, she begin to tell them the bad results of wright fake excuse notes, let students imagine how bad it is.After all this activities, students will remenber her lesson.
I don't think that Teacher Man wants "to tell them the bad results of wright fake excuse notes, let students imagine how bad it is." That would be some kind of MORAL lesson, a lesson dealing with right and wrong. That would actually make him a very conventional teacher, which he is not.
I think " teacher man " is an unconventional teacher because instead of doing what all the teachers would have done (go talk to the students' parents) he thought in a different way. He wanted to punish the students and teach them a lesson at the same time because he saw how creative they were when it was about writing excuse notes. One other reason that makes him unconventional is that he is trying to explain to the them the bad effects of what they do and what can happen to them in the future.
I don't think that he's trying to punish anybody or explain the bad effects of their forgeries. If he had done that, then he would be conventional, not unconventional.
The "Teacher Man" give the impression to be unconventional because he's not strict with his students. i mean by doing exactly what the teacher is supposed to do , but in the Teacher man who seems unconventional is a kind of professor who does not punish his students even when they do not do well. The teacher has a part of responsibility in the order to help them to reach their goals. If the one student is always late the teacher should to give a warning to his student or call his family to know exactly why this student is always late. The unconventional Teacher tend to be more flexible, i know with my little experience lots students like teachers who are flexible and kind , but i think there is a limit. However a conventional Teacher seems to be more implicate and strives to give them the key of the success.
In my opinion, I think the reason why we think Teacher Man is unconventional teacher is that he breaks the traditional ways of education. When he knew the excuse note was forged by the students themselves, he didn't as ordinary teacher tell these bad behaviors to their parents or talk to them you couldn't do this, instead of those, he obsreved students' excuse note by different point of view, as a reult, he discovered his students were capable of the finest creativity. Furthermore, he passed out those excuse notes for students to read aloud and assigned them a work to write a excuse note for their children as parents in the future on the class. Both of behaviors were ridiculous if we used traditional ways to comment, but both of them were innovative because Teacher Man used them to optimize their writing by their own property. So, the Teacher Man is an unconventional teacher.
In my opinion, what makes a Teacher Man unconventional teacher is the angle that he chose to solve the situation from both sides: academically and morally. Obviously, he is a smart teacher who can twist the" fake" excuse notes in" a positive" way . He got the benifit as a teacher to let them be confident about their writing abilities. On the other hand , imbaressed them with his kindness when he reacted about their fake excuse notes in a gentel way. They will never forget that Great Teacher!
McCourt, a high school teacher, received a lot of excuse notes which explained the reason why students didn't attend classes, didn't do homework, or fell the exam. Some of them were written by students' parents, but some were forged - students wrote by themselves and then their parents just signed without taking a look on what their sons or their daughters indicated. While his students always feel that they cannot do an excellent homework , McCourt realized that his students are very brilliant in the way they wrote an excuse note. These notes were such imaginative, creative, and fantastic writing homework, he thought. They made him decide to change the conventional way of teaching by asking his students to write an actual excuse note for their sons or daughters in the future in stead of asking them to do homework or punishing them for forgeries. To me, McCourt has changed the traditional teaching style that makes high school students be afraid of studying or cheat in school. He offered an unconvential method that help his students be interested in what they have to do.
the reason for "Teacher Man" is an unconventional teacher is he use excuse note-a novelty way which is never being used to solve students' preblems.I have to say it is a real vogue way not only show to the studens that you made a mistake, but also kinds of practice their creativity.Furthermore, he know give the students both medicated and candy is better than any single part.He didn't call their parents after he knew their did something wrong. In personly, it is a great way to aviod some preblems. For example, family relationship preblem, hostile to teathers, and so on. In fact, calling parents usually doesn't work. To sum up, "Teather Man" is a non-traditional teacher.
I think Teacher Man is unconventional teacher due to his innovative teaching method. With rare sensitivity, McCourt recognized outstanding creativity of his students when he found that most of the excuse notes were forged by them. At that time, he neither got angry with students nor punished them for their lies. Surprisingly, he asked his students to read aloud those excuse notes and write another excure note for their children as parents in the future. As the result, all students were completely attracted by "the first class in the world studying the art of the excuse note". I believe that normal traditional teachers hardly treat their students like McCourt does.
I think the "Teacher Man" is an unconventional teacher because he found that most of excuse notes were written by his students instead of their parents when he reviewed these excuse notes. He thought these excuse notes were such imaginative, creative, and fantastic writing homework, he distributed them to his students to read aloud. Let his students imagined if they were parents and written an excuse note for their children. This is unusual way to punish students.

I'm not sure if his goal was to get them to write believable excuses. Original, yes. Believable? I'm not sure.
